Woohoo! My Website Redesign is Live!

If you’re going to live, leave a legacy. Make a mark on the world that can’t be erased. - Maya Angelou

I love the quote above so much

that I spent entirely too much time creating a typographic illustration of it instead of writing this post. (That said I’m rather in love with it - the illustration.) But typography is perhaps my favorite design element. (I probably spent entirely too much time making the minutest of adjustments to type for this website redesign as well. And I apologize in advance for the liberties I took with the eclectic type treatment for this post. I’m a typography nerd and this is how I play. 🤓)

But back to the quote itself:

If you’re going to live, leave a legacy. Make a mark on the world that can’t be erased.
— Maya Angelou

I find this quote especially meaningful because it so beautifully articulates my creative aspirations. I want to make work that matters - that meaningfully contributes rather than just adding a thing to a world already full of things.

// Warning // I’m about to get more profound than I’m probably entitled to over something as banal as a website.

This website is the meaningful contribution I aspire to make - my mark that can’t be erased. If I can inspire you to be curious and courageous enough to be creative your curiosity and courageous creativity is the mark that can’t be erased.
