I’m one week in of the 100 Day Project and I’ve already wanted to quit at least twice. One day I was feeling low, another night I was feeling tired and then there were the many times I felt like my project was really, really stupid. Welcome to the life of an artist!
This first week has reminded me to loosen up, have a little fun and to put my perfectionism aside. It’s given me permission to mess about and play! Not everything I create has to be brilliant or perfectly executed.
Play is the place where discoveries are made. When we play, we let our guard down, our self doubts recede. We live in the moment and focus on what we’re engaging in. We enjoy the activity without concerning ourselves with productivity or relevancy. We play without expectation.
I want to stay committed to this project despite my private temper tantrums nearly every day. All I can do is take it one day at a time...

On December 29, 2016, I had my Fallopian tubes completely removed because I've decided to remain child free. It feels like a great burden has been lifted and it's one of the best decisions I've ever made. In the coming weeks, I'll be writing about why I made this choice, what the procedure was like, and how I've battled my insurance company for the coverage I am rightfully owed by law. I am passionate about reproductive rights and believe that women cannot achieve equality without gaining control over our own bodies. Below you'll find information about how to obtain no-cost birth control.
Sooooo yeah, it’s been a rough year, not least because I’m one of the many women who has been sexually assaulted and harassed, and now live in a country where a man accused of assaulting at least a dozen women (and boasted about it) was just handed the nation's top job. After making my way through the 5 stages of grief I decided to put together a list of a few favorite 2016 moments.
I had a much treasured, old fashioned phone call with my sister recently. We covered a wide range of topics, but one in particular still has me thinking - hearing voices.
